Fondazione Antonio Megalizzi

The Ambassadors Project

Become part of Fondazione Antonio Megalizzi’s team of Ambassadors, spreading European values and encouraging critical thinking in schools through workshops and educational activities inspired by Antonio’s legacy.

Every year, the Ambassadors Project selects and trains 30 university students to bring European citizenship education to Italian primary and secondary schools.

The Project

The Ambassadors Project selects 30 university students and recent graduates from across Italy every year.

The Ambassadors take part in a Summer School in Trento, where they receive academic training from university professors, communication experts and practitioners from the EU institutions. During this intensive training, they also learn effective strategies to engage students of different age groups, using specially designed educational materials.

During the Summer School, meals and accommodation are fully covered by the Foundation, and travel expenses are reimbursed. In some cases, students’ home universities may award academic credits, thesis points or internship recognition.

Afterwards, the Ambassadors organise educational programmes in Italian schools, consisting of three sessions of two hours each, targeting students from:

  • Primary schools (years 4 e 5)
  • Secondary schools (years 2 e 3)
  • Upper-secondary schools (years 3, 4 and 5)

With the Foundation’s support, the Ambassadors organize at least three educational cycles. All programmes are free of charge for schools and all participating students receive an activity book developed with the support of Edizioni Centro Studi Erickson.

Our Goals

The Foundation aims to spark participating students’ curiosity active participation, helping them become informed and engaged citizens. It also seeks to enhance the skills of young Ambassadors by offering them a highly impactful learning experience.

The project aims to build a network of young people committed to promoting EU values as well as to develop concrete tools to identify and counter disinformation, thereby strengthening civic awareness and critical thinking among new generations.
