The Foundation

Founded in 2019 in Trento, the Antonio Megalizzi Foundation is committed to keeping alive the European dream of young journalist Antonio Megalizzi, who tragically lost his life in the Strasbourg terrorist attack in December 2018.

Thanks to the dedication of his family, the founding organisations and many volunteers, the Foundation carries forward his values and projects through commitment and concrete action.

Through educational activities in schools as well as initiatives aimed at promoting reliable information, we foster European values and the importance of active citizenship.

The Foundation is committed to:

• Cultivating critical thinking, civic awareness, and ethical responsibility within society.
• Promoting and supporting education and training at all levels, offering opportunities for cultural and professional growth.
• Enhancing communication and information, strengthening the sense of collective identity both nationally and across Europe..
• Spreading a culture of legality, respect, and civil coexistence, opposing all forms of violence while promoting the values of cooperation, solidarity, and subsidiarity.
