YOUTH COUNCIL EUSALP IN BRUXELLES WITH THE PRESIDENCE EUSALP 2022 AND THE FONDAZIONE ANTONIO MEGALIZZI

The peer-to-peer training session, promoted by the Italian Presidency Eusalp 2022 and realized by Fondazione Antonio Megalizzi for the EUSALP Youth Council in Brussels, has started this morning, 9th March, in Brussels. The Council was welcomed by the Directors of the Offices of the Autonomous Province of Trento and Bolzano in Brussels Katharina Lonardi and Vesna Caminades and by Gabriele Pedrini Officer of the Autonomous Province of Trento in Brussels as well as Paola Delrio. The volunteers of the Fondazione Antonio Megalizzi Ilaria Garampi and Andrea Malena were also present to facilitate the session: a chance to discuss the most important topics on the EU’s table and to raise young people’s voices at the Conference on the Future of Europe.

The EUSALP Youth Council will be first trained on different topics, such as Economic development, Governance, Environment, Mobility and Connectivity, to than formulate proposals to be submitted to the CoFE. In the afternoon, the Council will meet Mirko Bisesti, Councillor for Education, University and Culture of Autonomous Province of Trento. Subsequently, the group will meet Elena Turci, representative of the European Youth Foundation for an interactive session and will have the chance to visit the Parlamentarium.
Environmental protection and climate change will be central to the 2022 Presidency as the Alpine habitat is a common responsibility and must be preserved, as well as youth participation in decision-making processes. Therefore, the Italian presidency of EUSALP, held by the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano/Bozen, wish to involve the youth in the program of their presidency and listen to their voices.
