Who was Antonio Megalizzi<\/h2>\n

Antonio started working in radio at a very young age. As a child, he enjoyed interviewing his friends for live broadcasts using a toy recorder. From that moment on, he never stopped. <\/span><\/p>\n

A shy and insecure boy, he decided to challenge his introverted nature by putting himself on the front lines. He began collaborating with the professional radio station RTT la Radio as a sound technician and music compiler. What seemed like a risky choice for someone with such a reserved character turned out to be a winning one: his childhood shyness gradually faded away. This was the beginning of his “affectionate, obsessive, almost compulsive” relationship with radio\u2014”a medium of unique beauty and rare intimacy that caresses our hearing every day.” <\/span><\/p>\n

In June 2014, he joined RAI Trentino as the author and host of Degree Thesis \u2013 La Movida delle Idee, a program broadcast on Radio 2. Meanwhile, he earned a degree in Communication Sciences in Verona and completed an advanced training course in Social Media Marketing. <\/span><\/p>\n

In 2015, during a summer school in Brussels, Antonio discovered his second great passion. With his mind constantly buzzing with ideas, he recognized the communication gap between European institutions and citizens. Determined to bridge this divide, he started working on new formats to explain and bring the European Union closer to the people. <\/span><\/p>\n

That same year, he participated in the national selection process for Europhonica, the European radio format dedicated to EU affairs. He won and became the editor-in-chief of an Italian editorial team of 25 young journalists from Trento to Catania. Antonio embraced this role with enthusiasm and dedication, producing over 100 radio programs on the EU in four years, training 40 young journalists, and traveling dozens of times to the European Parliament in Strasbourg. There, Europhonica conducted interviews with top Italian and foreign MEPs, including the President of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani. <\/span><\/p>\n

Alongside this volunteer project, Antonio also worked with Radio 80 Forever Young as an author, speaker, artistic director, and commercial director\u2014four roles driven by a single passion that translated into relentless dedication. His fast-paced days started at 6 a.m., recording news segments and managing the studio, before heading off to live events across Trentino. Engaging with audiences, hosting shows on stages and in arenas\u2014this was his element. <\/span><\/p>\n

Antonio\u2019s second love was writing. He wrote everything: novels, short stories, essays, articles for blogs and news websites, as well as radio and television formats. In 2015, he authored an essay titled Political Post. Everybody at Home. And No One in the Voting Booth, analyzing the rise of social media in politics. <\/span><\/p>\n

A relentless incubator of ideas, Antonio was never satisfied\u2014always striving for more. While working, he decided to challenge himself once again by enrolling in a master\u2019s program in European and International Studies at the University of Trento. His thirst for knowledge knew no bounds. He regretted every missed class due to work commitments. Before December 11, his goal was to go on Erasmus to Luxembourg, continuing his European journey and pushing himself further\u2014just as he had always done. <\/span><\/p>\n
